AG Precision Neuromedicine
We deal with the genetic architecture of common and rare diseases and analyze the interplay of the underlying molecular mechanisms and environmental factors that trigger diseases. The analysis of large data sets enables improved prediction, diagnosis, personalized treatment and ultimately prevention. Through our research, we want to "predict and then prevent" diseases instead of "diagnosing and treating" them. One particular focus of our research is Restless Legs Syndrome (RLS). The working group is primarily based at the Helmholtz Center Munich.
