The elective course Genomic Medicine (only available in the winter semester) provides an insight into how personal genotyping works and how to interpret the genetic results. The special thing about this elective is that participants can voluntarily have themselves genotyped and then analyze their own genetic genome-wide array data on selected traits during the course. Those who do not wish to do so will analyze anonymized genotype data. The course includes theoretical lectures, practical exercises and discussion sessions. Part of the theoretical basics will be taught online in advance during the winter semester (January). This leaves time for questions before the actual course and more time for practical work during the three course days, which usually take place as a block in mid-February.
We offer one student per PJ tertial the opportunity to complete a tertial at our institute. Applications can be made centrally via the PJ portal.
